Application Guidelines for TFSU 2026 Spring Semester

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

 

为满足国际社会对日益增长的中文教育类人才的需求，促进世界各国中文教育的发展，助力国际中文教育人才的成长，教育部中外语言交流合作中心（以下简称中心）设立国际中文教师奖学金（以下简称奖学金），聚焦培养合格的海外中文教师。孔子学院、独立设置的孔子课堂，部分汉语考试考点，外国相关教育机构、高校中文师范专业/中文院系、国外有关中文教学行业组织、中国驻外使（领）馆等（以下简称推荐机构）可推荐优秀学生和在职中文教师到中国大学学习和进修国际中文教育及相关专业。

To meet the growing international demand for Chinese language teachers, facilitate Chinese language education around the world, and support the professional development of Chinese language teachers, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) has established the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as the Scholarship) for eligible Chinese language teachers outside of China. Confucius Institutes, independent Confucius Classrooms, selected HSK test centers, foreign educational institutions, Chinese language teacher training programs/Chinese departments at foreign universities, professional associations for Chinese language teaching, Chinese embassies (consulates) abroad (hereinafter collectively referred to as Recommending Institutions) may recommend outstanding students and in-service Chinese language teachers to further their studies in international Chinese language education and related programs at Chinese universities (hereinafter referred to as Host Institutions).

天津外国语大学是一所主要外语语种齐全，文学、经济学、管理学、法学、教育学、艺术学、工学等多学科协调发展、特色鲜明的高等学校。学校现有五大道和滨海两个校区。五大道校区地处天津市历史风貌建筑文化旅游区内。滨海校区坐落在滨海新区大港高教生态园区内，湖光映翠，景色秀丽。作为国际中文教师奖学金接收院校之一，天津外国语大学欢迎世界各地的留学生来校学习。2026年春季天津外国语大学国际中文教师奖学金申请办法如下：

Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) is a multilingual university with seven discipline categories—Literature, Economics, Management, Law, Education, Art and Engineering. The university now has two campuses. The Machang Road campus is located in the Scenic Five Avenues District, and is included in the Ten Sites of Tianjin. Binhai Campus is located in the picturesque university garden of Dagang District, Tianjin Binhai New Area. Tianjin Foreign Studies University, as one of the Host Institutions of International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, welcomes applicants all over the world to study at TFSU. Please check the following guide for detailed information of the application for 2026 spring semester:

一、资助对象

I. ELIGIBILITY

1.非中国籍人士；

2.对华友好，无违法犯罪记录，遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度；

3.身心健康，品学兼优；

4.有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作；

5.年龄为16-35周岁（统一以2025年9月1日计）。在职中文教师放宽至45周岁。

a) Be a non-Chinese citizen;

b) Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;

c) Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;

d) Be interested in Chinese language education and related work;

e) Be aged between 16 and 35 years on September 1, 2025. The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45.

二、奖学金类别及申请条件

II. CATEGORIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

1.一学期研修生

  Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program

2026年3月入学，资助期限为5个月。原则上不录取3年内享受过同类奖学金的申请者。 国际中文教育、汉语言文学方向, 中文水平考试成绩达到HSK（三级）180分，具有HSKK成绩。

The program commences in March 2026, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of five months. In principle, applicants who have received a similar scholarship within three years are not eligible. Applicants of International Chinese language education, Chinese language and literature programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.

2.四周研修生

Scholarship for Four-Week Study Program

2025年12月入学，资助期限为4周，具有HSK成绩。可由推荐机构组团进行报名，并事先联系我校确定在华学习计划，提前报批，每团10-15人。 

The program commences in December, 2025, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four weeks. Applicants are required to provide an HSK test score. The program may be organized and applied for by a Recommending Institution with 10-15 participants per group. Before the trip, a detailed study plan shall be made in consultation with TFSU and such plan shall be submitted to CLEC for review and approval.

三、奖学金资助内容及标准

III. COVERAGE AND STANDARD FOR INTERNATIONAL CHINESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP  

奖学金资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费（四周研修生除外）和综合医疗保险费。一学期研修生标准为2500元人民币/月。

The Scholarship supports tuition, accommodation, living allowance (excluding four-week study program students) and comprehensive medical insurance. The monthly allowance for one-semester study program students is RMB 2,500 per person.

四、申请流程

IV. APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.申请者可登录中外语言交流合作中心网站（http://www.chinese.cn）国际中文教育奖学金板块，查询推荐机构与接收院校，在线提交申请材料；同时提交完整准确的个人信息表（附件1）及符合要求的照片至tfsulb@tjfsu.edu.cn。请通过网站随时关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果，并及时查看邮箱，我校将通过邮件通知审核意见、面试要求、授予结果、及录取程序等。

a) Online registration is available on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website (http://www.chinese.cn). Please log on to search for scholarships, Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions, submit application materials online. Meanwhile, a complete and accurate form of personal information (Appendix 1) and the required photo should be submitted to tfsulb@tjfsu.edu.cn. Please track the application progress, comments and results through the website, and check the email in time. TFSU will notify the review opinions, interview requirements and award results through email.

2.推荐机构按申请办法要求审核申请者资格及申请材料，为申请者出具推荐信并完成在线推荐。

b) Recommending Institutions shall, pursuant to the Guide, review the applicants’ qualifications and application documents, provide recommendation letters for the applicants and complete online recommendation.

3.我校按招生要求审核申请资料，向中心提交符合条件人选。

c) TFSU shall review the application according to the requirements and submit the qualified applicants to CLEC.

4.中心委托专家组集中评审，根据HSK、HSKK考分和级别，兼顾国别等因素择优资助，于入学前约3个月完成奖学金评审工作，公布评审结果。

d) CLEC will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. Decisions will be based on HSK and HSKK levels and scores, geographical distribution, and other factors. The results will be announced about three months before the program starts.

5.我校将根据评审结果与奖学金获得者确认录取。确认留学意向后，奖学金获得者需按我校要求在天津外国语大学来华留学生招生管理系统（https://tfsu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx）再次录入申请信息，提交申请材料。除国际中文教师奖学金报名网站需要的材料外，还须上传由正规医院出具的《外国人体格检查记录》（附件2）及无犯罪记录证明。

注：应严格按照《外国人体格检查记录》中要求的项目进行检查。缺项、未贴有本人照片或照片上未盖骑缝章、无医师和医院签字盖章的体检表无效。鉴于检查结果及无犯罪记录证明有效期均为6个月，请申请人据此确定体检及开具证明时间。开学报到时须携带体检记录的所有原件。

e) TFSU will confirm the admission with the successful applicants according to the results. After confirming the intention to study at TFSU, the successful applicants shall, according to the requirements of TFSU, register in the International Student Service System（https://tfsu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx), fill in the application information and submit the application materials. In addition to the materials required by the application system for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship of CLEC, the PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNR (Appendix 2) issued by the regular hospital and the Certificate of Non-criminal Record must be submitted.

Notes: The examination shall be carried out in strict accordance with the items required in the PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNR. All the items should be filled clearly. The hospital seal should be put across the photo on the Record. The Record without the signature of doctor and the seal of hospital is invalid. Since the validity period of the examination results and the Certificate of Non-criminal Record is 6 months, the applicant can determine the time of physical examination and certificate issue accordingly. All the originals of the physical examination records must be brought for school registration.

6.我校将录取通知书电子版、JW202表或DQ表链接通过邮件发送至我校系统学生登记的个人邮箱。奖学金获得者自行打印奖学金获奖证书，办理来华留学手续，按我校录取通知书规定的时间和程序入学报到。

f) TFSU will send the electronic version of the admission letter、the links of JW202 form or DQ form to the email registered in the International Student Service System. The successful applicant must print out the scholarship certificate online, confirm with TFSU to go through the procedures of studying in China, and register according to the date and procedures specified in the letter of admission.

五、关于在职中文教师和汉语桥获奖者

V. POLICIES REGARDING IN-SERVICE CHINESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS AND CHINESE BRIDGE WINNERS

1.在职中文教师

在职中文教师申请各类奖学金，可提供就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信，同等条件下优先录取。

2.汉语桥获奖者

在各类汉语桥比赛中获得“国际中文教师奖学金证书”者，登录国际中文教师奖学金网站，凭奖学金证书向我校提交申请材料。如有问题，请咨询 chinesebridge@chinese.cn。

a) In-Service Chinese Language Teachers

In-service Chinese language teachers need to provide proof of employment and a letter of recommendation from the employer.

b) Chinese Bridge Winners

Applicants who have received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate during Chinese Bridge competitions need to submit their application documents along with their scholarship certificates to TFSU directly at the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website. 六、申请材料

VI. APPLICATION MATERIALS

申请人所提供的全部材料均应为中文或英文版本。

1.护照照片页扫描件；

2.HSK、HSKK成绩报告（有效期两年）扫描件；

3.推荐机构负责人的推荐信；

4.在职中文教师须附上就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信；

5.未满18周岁的申请者，须提交在津监护人相关文件；

6.《外国人体格检查记录》；

7.无犯罪记录证明。

All the materials provided by the applicants shall be in Chinese or English.

a) A scanned copy of passport photo page;

b) A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK/HSKK tests (within the two-year validity);

c) A reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution;

d) In-service Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment and a reference letter from the employer;

e) Applicants under 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in Tianjin;

f) PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNR ;

g) Certificate of Non-criminal Record.

七、申请截止日期（以北京时间为准）

VII. APPLICATION DEADLINES (Beijing time)

1.9月15日（2025年12月入学）

2.10月31日（2026年3月入学）

a) For programs commencing in December, applicants must complete their applications by September 15.

b) For programs commencing in March 2026, applicants must complete their applications by October 31, 2025.

八、其它

Ⅷ. OTHERS

1.申请者须了解我校的具体招生条件及报名截止时间，按照相关规定提交申请材料。 

2.申请材料不完整或不符合招生条件的，概不受理。

3.申请材料弄虚作假，或非本人填写提交的，一经查实，申请资格将被取消。

4.入学体检及无犯罪记录证明不合格、中途退学、及未经许可不按时报到、休学等情况，取消奖学金资格。

a) Applicants shall be familiar with the admission criteria and application deadlines, and submit necessary documents accordingly.

b) Incomplete or unqualified applications will not be processed.

c) Applicants will be disqualified in terms of fraudulent application materials or non-personal submission.

d) Applicants who fail to pass the pre-enrollment medical examination, submit unqualified Certificate of Non-criminal Record, withdraw from school before completing the program, fail to register at the university without prior permission, or suspend their studies will be disqualified for the scholarship.
