I.About TFSU
Tianjin Foreign Studies University, established in 1964, is one of China's eight prestigious institutions for higher education in foreign languages. TFSU is an institution of higher learning, with the discipline of Foreign Language & Literature taking the lead and Humanities, Economics, Administration & Management, Law, Education, Art, and Engineering balancing the overall disciplinary structure. The university now has two campuses. The three Wudadao campuses are located in the historical and architectural tourism area in Tianjin. The Binhai Campus is located in the picturesque university garden of Dagang District, Tianjin Binhai New Area.
The university has established friendly cooperation with over 380 universities and educational institutions in more than 50 countries worldwide. The university is a designated institution for recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, Tianjin Municipal Government Scholarship for Foreign Students, as well as various specialized scholarship programs, including the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship- Master Program in Translation for International Students, the Sino-foreign University Language Partner Program, and the Sino- Indonesian Joint Training Program for Major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. Additionally, the university offers scholarship for international students studying at Tianjin Foreign Studies University. Every year, the university hosts over 2,000 long and short- term international students from more than 60 countries, pursuing undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, or participating in short-term training programs.
II.Eligibility
1. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, hold a non-Chinese nationality, and meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education Document No. 12 [2020].
2. Applicants shall be of good moral character, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to comply with Chinese laws and the regulations of TFSU.
3. Applicants for undergraduate programs must have a high school diploma or an equivalent degree.
4. Applicants must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment(CSCA) (official website:www.csca.cn)before apply. For the subjects required for each major, please refer to Section IV: Majors and CSCA RequiredTestSubjects below.

Notes:
1.Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must select the Chinese language version of the CSCA test and cannot choose the English languageversion. Applicants for English-taught programs must select the English language version of the CSCA test.
2.Any policy changes concerning the CSCAtestwill be implemented according to the new regulations, and the latest official notice shall prevail.
Ⅴ.Application Procedure
1.The applicants log in to the "Tianjin Foreign Studies University International Student Service Platform" (http://tfsu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx) to complete the online application.
2.TFSU will review the application materials.
3.After the materials are reviewed and approved, TFSU will conduct written tests and interviews for the applicants.
4.Upon passing the interview, the applicants shall pay the fees.
5.After the payment is completed, TFSU will issue the admission notice and visa application form for the applicants.
6.The applicants should then apply for a Chinese visa at the Chinese embassy in their home country with the admission notice and visa application form.
Ⅵ.Application Materials
1. Photocopy of passport(Ordinary passport expires afterMarch 31, 2027).Applicants who have immigrated to other countries or whose parent is a Chinese national should provide proof of time for naturalization, proof of renunciation of Chinese nationality and a visa record of recent four years for entry and exit to China .
2. High school diploma. If the applicant is a current senior high school student, a certificate of enrollment issued by the school is required.
3. Complete high school transcript.
4.CSCA Score Report.Applicantsmust register for and take the CSCA beforeJune 30, 2026, and obtain a valid Score Report.
5. For Chinese-taught majors, a Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 certificate with a score of 180 or above is required (valid within 2 years). For English-taught majors, an IELTS score of 6.0 (or above) or a TOEFL score of 80 (or above) or an equivalent English proficiency certificate is required.
6. Photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (the original document, printed by Chinese quarantine authorities, shall be filled in in English and kept by the applicant). The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Medical examination results are valid for only six months (see Attachment 1).
7. A valid Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by the local public security (such as the police station), usually issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application.
8. A bank statement issued by a bank showing a deposit of more than 40,000 RMB in the name of the applicant or their financial guarantor.
9.An applicant under the age of 18 shall submit the legal documents of his/her legal guardian(s) inTianjin,China.
Notes:
1.All application materials must be in Chinese or English. Non-Chinese or non-English certificates (proofs) must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English.
2.All documents uploaded through the system must be clear, authentic, and valid. Applicants are recommended to use professional device to scan relevant documents. Any consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable documents uploaded will be borne by applicants.

Ⅷ.Registration
New students must register on time according to the date specified in the admission notice. Those who fail to register on time without a valid reason will be considered to have withdrawn automatically.
When registering, please bring the admission notice, the Application Form for Visa of Foreign Students in Chinaand allthe original application materials.Students who fail the admission qualification review will be disqualified from admission.
Ⅸ.Fees
1.Registration: 500 RMB
2.Tuition: 15,400 RMB/year (Tuition does not include textbook fees)
3.Insurance: 800 RMB/year
4.Accommodation: 50 RMB/day for a double room . Students must stay in on-campus housing during their studies.
